I would again like to say welcome to our site. It is with great pride that I make this introduction on behalf of UA Local 56 and its 1400 members.

Our Local union and its business partners have been doing quality work in Nova Scotia for over 100 years.

The membership of Local 56 is made up of skilled trade’s people in all aspects of the piping industry including Multi-storey, Residential, Commercial, Institutional and Service plumbers, Steamfitters, Pipefitters, High Pressure Welders, HVAC Refrigeration Technicians, Sprinkler System Installers, Instrumentation Technicians, Gas Fitting Technicians, Oil Burner Mechanics and Metal Trade Fabricators.

The United Association has implemented a program called the Standard of Excellence. This details what our business partners can expect from our trades people.

The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada or "UA" as it is commonly known is a multi-craft union whose members are engaged in the fabrication, installation and servicing of piping systems. There are approximately 326,000 highly-skilled United Association members who belong to over 300 individual local unions across North America.
